LATEST NEWS: BSC name Ramsay as second signing
BSC are delighted to announce defender Drew Ramsay as the second addition to the sides 2015-16 squad after signing from Junior side Petershill FC.
Drew, 22, and brother of current BSC player Euan Ramsay, grew up playing football in Clyde’s youth system, before signing his professional contract with the League Two side at 18. Ramsay went on to play in Australia for a year, before returning to Scotland to play with Arthurlie, Fauldhouse, and most recently, Petershill.
After struggling with injury, Ramsay hasn’t seen much playing time since January, but is ecstatic to be signing with the Lowland League side.
He said: “Petershill signed me from Fauldhouse in January, but due to surgery on my shoulder and some other complications, I haven’t played much since then.
“I’m really excited to be joining BSC next season. There are a few reasons for choosing the side, but it was mostly due to the management staff. I’m very close to Kingy and Gigz, and I agree with their belief that next year will be a very exciting and successful year for the club.
“Meeting Kenny Moyes was also a huge part. He knows a lot of people in the game, and he’s encouraged me, and I know he wants the best for both parties.”
With less than a month left on his surgery recovery, the left back is feeling positive about his sides aspirations for success, not to mention his own personal goals.
“I’ve seen a handful of teams in the Lowland League, and from what I’ve seen, with the right attitude and a strong squad, anything is possible. I really hope the club will be a successful one come this time next year.
For myself, I would really like to go back to playing at the top level. I feel I was too young, and probably too immature the first time around, but I think signing for BSC is a great first way to start.”
