MATCH PREVIEW :: BSC Glasgow vs. Civil Service Strollers

Written by Sam Jenkinson

BSC Glasgow return to Christie Gillies Park this Saturday to take on Civil Service Strollers for a chance to play in the Lowland League Cup Final.

After last week’s dramatic quarter final victory over Edinburgh University set up this trip to the Capital, Stephen Swift and his coaching staff will now be tasked with helping BSC qualify for their first cup final in two years.

A 100% winning record has brought confidence and belief to the BSC squad, who have won four games on the bounce for the first time since September last year.

Alex Cunningham’s much improved side have also impressed recently, with wins over BSC, Selkirk, Dalbeattie Star and last week’s dominant victory over Preston meaning Saturday’s tie will not be an easy one for Swift and his charges.

The two sides shared victories during the league season, with BSC coming out 2-1 victors at The Indodrill Stadium in September, as Tom Woods and Gary Redpath scored for all three points.

On the other side of the draw, Gretna FC 2008 will host Spartans after an impressive away win at the University of Stirling. Their opponents got through with an equally notable win, grabbing the only goal of the game in the second half despite going down to 10 men in the first minute.
