MATCH PREVIEW :: East Kilbride vs BSC Glasgow
East Kilbride vs BSC Glasgow Preview :: 6th November, 2016
BSC Glasgow will travel to East Kilbride FC’s K-Park this Saturday as they look to end the home side’s winning run and perfect start to the Lowland League season.
It’s been an incredible run for Martin Lauchlan’s side, who have netted an extraordinary 41 league goals already to go along with a 9-1 cup win at Vale of Leithen and another (narrower) win League Two side Cowdenbeath.
Last weekend saw them come from 2-1 down to defeat Vale 4-2 and win their 26th game in a row. The run, which started in March, has equalled Dutch side Ajax’s winning run from the 1970’s, and includes Lauchlan’s sides East of Scotland cup win over Berwick Rangers and victory in the Lowland League cup final over Gretna FC 2008 on penalties after a goalless 120 minutes.
The side’s last defeat came all the way back in March, as BSC’s last opponents Whitehill Welfare beat them 2-1 at K-Park thanks to a double from Andy Martin.
Two weeks earlier, however, it was BSC who took all three points as the sides met at Lochburn Park. Grant Dickie scored an excellent second minute volley after a nice overhead flick from Aidan Ferris that night in Mark Adams’ fifth game in charge. A solid defensive effort followed as Derick Moore had an outstanding night in between the posts.
BSC will be looking to push on after an much improved performance last Saturday. Two goals respectively for Ferris and Riccardo Corrieri saw Adams’ leave his old ground with a resounding 5-1 victory. He will be hoping for similar as BSC look to enter the top five in the Lowland League for the first time this season.
